Rebecca Jones Westendorff, PA-C, has been a physician assistant for 26 years, practicing cardiology and specializing in electrophysiology for 23 years. Her interest in cardiology started in the 5th grade when her father had a heart attack. She graduated from Guilford College with a bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in psychology. She attended the physician assistant program at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
Rebecca is from Wilmington and has worked locally for most of her career. In In 2016, she was instrumental in starting the only outpatient left ventricular assist device (LVAD) program in Wilmington, and in 2019, she helped start the only outpatient atrial fibrillation clinic. For these accomplishments and for being considered a “senior leader in the APP (advanced practice provider) division of Cape Fear Heart Associates,” she was nominated as a local APP health care hero in 2020. Our patients truly benefit from Rebecca’s wealth of knowledge and experience.
